I came across this problem while working with arduino UNO. After going through several blogs and forums I came with a series of solutions which i have shared below.
Possible Reasons:
avr_dude not in sync is the error when arduino is not able to communicate with the computer and resulting we are not able to upload a sketch. First of all verify some things below:
